Forbes Releases Top 20 Richest Men In Africa, Dangote Retains Top Spot (See Full List)

Here is the recently released Forbes list of the top 21 richest men in Africa for the year 2019. The list was released today January 9, 2019.

The Forbes list, released on Wednesday, revealed that in 2019 there were fewer and poorer billionaires on the African continent.

Aliko Dangote from Nigeria retained his position as the richest man in Africa on the recently released Forbes list of African billionaires.

However, he lost almost $ 2 billion compared to the value of his previous year. Estimated net assets of $ 10.3 billion from Dangote is almost $ 2 billion less than a year ago.

Another Nigerian, Folorunsho Alakija, was one of the billionaires, who had suffered a decline in equity between the previous year and this year, while she had No. 19 on the 20-person list. Forbes reports that Alakija's net assets have decreased as a result of a decline in the value of one of Nigeria's most productive oil fields. It is claimed that the decline is partly due to the fact that the production of the oil field has leveled off.

The rating magazine reports that Alakija's net assets have declined as a result of a decline in the value of one of Nigeria's most productive oil fields.

Mike Adenuga, the owner of Globacom, has become the 5th richest man in Africa. Others are the Nigerian cement magnate Abdulsamad Rabiu, who runs and owns the BUA Group, which is number 16 for the first time since 2015.
